The CADA Awards are held annually in the spring to recognize excellence in substance abuse awareness, prevention, and treatment in the Greater New Orleans area.

Award Categories
Community Leadership Award
The Community Leadership Award recognizes an individual that has been a leader in substance abuse prevention or treatment and has impacted these fields by introducing innovative and effective methods or programs,their outstanding leadership, or by contributing to a meaningful change in the public’s awareness of the issues surrounding substance abuse.
Excellence in Prevention
The Excellence in Prevention Award recognizes an individual that has made a significant contribution to the field of substance abuse prevention in New Orleans and has had a positive impact on the lives of young New Orleanians by reducing their risk for substance abuse.
Excellence in Treatment
The Excellence in Treatment Award recognizes an individual that has made a significant contribution to the field of substance abuse treatment in New Orleans and has made a difference in the lives of New Orleanians in need of treatment services.
Media Award
The Media Award is given to a journalist or news organization that has made a special contribution to public awareness and understanding of issues related to substance abuse. The recipient is selected by the CADA Board of Directors.
