SERVICES

CADA offers the following services for individuals of all ages. All services are available in English and Spanish.

EDUCATION/PREVENTION

CADA's prevention education (available in English and Spanish) leads students to explore the myths and discover the facts of alcohol and drug abuse through a 12-week curriculum-based program. As research indicates, a continuous format is more effective than a one-time presentation, therefore, CADA's education modules consist of meeting with students once a week, for one hour, in a health or physical education class.

CADA strives to empower students to recognize and build on their strengths, capabilities and resources. In addition to drug prevention, the education modules provide "protective" skills, such as self-esteem, decision making, goal setting and conflict resolution. These skills are essential in resisting experimentation and being able to make healthy, positive choices.

CADA's prevention education modules are available for fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grade classes, however they are adaptable to a high school level. Due to CADA's unique interactive approach, the prevention education modules can accommodate no more than 35 students.

If you are interested in learning more about CADA's prevention education, or would like to schedule a module in your school, please contact Joneil or Anna at (504) 362-4272.

CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION & TREATMENT REFERRAL

Individuals may call the CADA Help Line at (504) 362-4272 to speak confidentially to one of our Information and Referral Specialists about a problem with alcohol or drugs. Treatment information, including information about local treatment facilities, is also available.

ASSESSMENT SERVICES

CADA's assessments are confidential, in-depth, personal evaluations designed to detect alcohol or chemical dependency problems in adults and adolescents. The assessments are performed by on-staff, licensed counselors who can determine the nature of the problem, as well as recommend a course of action to help alleviate the problem. Following an assessment, CADA provides recommendations with complete follow-up. The assessment team also offers referrals to an appropriate treatment provider when necessary.

All assessments are clinically-based, non-biased, confidential and comprehensive. Offered in English and Spanish, CADA's assessment team uses nationally recognized and standardized evaluation tools. CADA's assessments are affordable and convenient. We schedule morning and afternoon appointments Monday through Friday. CADA offers free parking and is near the public bus route.
