ABOUT CADA
CADA uses research-based prevention techniques and programs
to:
- Empower youth with protective skills, such as self-esteem,
decision making, goal setting and conflict resolution, needed to resist experimentation
and to make healthy, positive choices. Youth prevention involves changing attitudes and
behaviors regarding alcohol and drug use.
- Educate and equip parents with the skills needed to better
communicate with their children and maintain active involvement throughout their more
influential years. Parents should know that they can become the number one influence in
their children's lives to protect them from involvement in substance use.
- Encourage community involvement and support in enhancing
pro-social behavior and creating community-awareness of the problems associated with
substance abuse.
